U-line now in production at Wästberg

February 2011
Wästberg, a young Swedish lighting company, is putting the ST11A and BA11A lamps from Maarten Van Severen’s U-Line collection into production once again. The cooperation between Magnus Wästberg’s company and the Van Severen family was brought about by Claessen Koivisto Rune, a trio of architects that Maarten Van Severen got to know during a series of workshops at the Vitra Design Museum in Boisbuchet (FR) in 2001. This standard lamp and desk lamp, which until 2008 were produced by the Light company in Belgium, will from now on be called w111f and w111t and use LEDs, which reduces the number of parts. Several mechanical improvements have also been made, the foot is now heavier and a dimmer switch has been added. The designs were launched at the Stockholm furniture fair (8-12/2/2011) and will be on sale as from summer 2011.
