Scale model of the Boxy Pavilion exhibited in Frankfurt

October 2016
From October 2016 until February 2017, a scale model of the kitchen pavilion that Maarten Van Severen designed for Boxy caterers was featured in an exhibition entitled “Maatwerk” in the DAM Architecture Museum in Frankfurt (Germany). A detail picture of the pavilion’s interior was used as the campaign visual for the exhibition. The “Maatwerk” exhibition was created by the Flemish Architecture Institute (Vlaams Architectuurinstituut (VAi)) and highlights the precision and craftsmanship of Flemish and Dutch architecture of the past thirty years in sixty scale models. The scale model of the Boxy project was previously featured in the 2015 exhibition “De Wonderjaren” in the Scharpoord Cultural Centre in Knokke-Heist (Belgium). The Mies van der Rohe Foundation owns another scale model of this project. It was featured in the 2014 exhibition “Made in Europe”, in Venice (Italy), on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Mies van der Rohe Award. The Boxy Pavilion was nominated for this award in 2007.
